WEST PADUCAH, KY – According to Kentucky State Police, a single vehicle accident Saturday evening in West Paducah claims the life of a nineteen-year-old Braidwood, Il teen.
The accident occurred shortly after 5:00 pm Saturday evening.
As twenty-six-year-old Teri Rynearson reached the top of a hill near 9115 Childress Road she lost control of her car. After hitting a ditch, the car struck a utility pole and ejected nineteen-year-old Jacob Rynearson, one of 4 passengers in the vehicle.
Jacob was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the McCracken County Coroner.
The other two passengers, eighteen-year-old Amanda Trfimchuck and a one-year-old both of Coal City, Il were wearing their seat belts. They were transferred and treated for possible injuries and were eventually released from the hospital.
The above facts point out the dangers on some of the highways in Western Kentucky. On several occasions this year there have been tragic accidents on Highway 94 in Calloway County. As a person who travels through these highways everyday each week I can understand that it could be the site of such a tragic accident. It is definitely one of many dangerous highways in Western Kentucky that must be navigated with caution.
