A Murray teen was killed on Monday, July 4 during a two car accident on KY Highway 80 in Murray.
Mohammed Alyami and his passenger Mahed Balharith, both 19-year-old residents of Murray, were traveling west on Kentucky Highway 80 when their car was struck by 42-year-old Johnathon Herrell of Knoxville, TN.
Herrell was headed east on KY Connector 94 when he failed to stop at a stop sign, striking the drivers side of the car that Alyami and Balharith were traveling in. Balharith was pronunced dead on the scene.
The executives of the estate for Mahed may have a claim from this wreck against the Insurance Company of Johnathon Harrell. Their claim will be for Wrongful Death due to the negligence of the driver that caused the accident.
The County or the Kentucky State Police, in a case such as this, must open an Investigation. Sometimes the result of these investigations can stay open for months. Most of the time, the results are released within a week.
We would like to send out thoughts and prayers to the family of Mahed Balharith.
