One Kentucky Law is going to face increased scrutiny in the latest case of a Kentucky Hit and Run Wrongful Death. Connie Blount was hit while crossing a downtown Lexington Street early Sunday Morning with a friend. Police say that she was walking with the light when she was struck and killed by a Cheverolet Extendacab. The driver of the Truck has not yet been identified or come forward. Reports say that the driver of the Truck nearly misssed striking Blount's friend.
Under Kentucky Law, this culpable driver, will not face a Felony Prosecution for leaving the scene of a Fatal Accident. Something needs to be done. Lawmakers in Frankfort as well as all Kentuckians will be outraged as soon as this is made public.
A Memorial Service was held yesterday at the University of Kentucky in Lexington on behalf of Connie Blount. Her Dad was on hand to thank all of those present and to increase awareness of this tragic event. He also assisted Police in their search for the suspect who is still at-large.
At DarylTDixonLaw.com, we will continue to blog about this story until the suspect is caught and we will follow up on any reaction by lawmakers and concerned Kentuckians.
Again, if anyone reading this blog has any additional information about the accident or the at-large driver, they are urged to call Lexington-Fayette Count Police or the Unviersity of Kentucky Police Department.
